In 2019 parents & caregivers returned impact surveys to 54 public libraries around the state, according to these surveys they reported their child(ren)’s:

  • 79.66% enjoyment of reading increased (or was not applicable)
  • 78.34% read more voluntarily (or was not applicable)
  • 75.22% reading skill increased (or was not applicable)
  • 81.34% amount of reading increased (or was not applicable)
  • 64.37% verbal communication skills increased (or was not applicable)
  • 56.20% written communication skills increased (or was not applicable)
  • 98.34% will continue to bring their child(ren) to the library in the fall
  • 93.72% felt incentives encouraged reading

Librarian Surveys
